Critique Guidelines and Submissions

Critiques will be offered by Donna J. Essner, editor; Karen Sargent, author & instructor; and Marcie Upchurch, editor.

 

Donna Essner will provide a one-page, written critique in any genre of fiction. Please also include a 1-3 sentence log line of the manuscript.

 

Guidelines: Submit the first five (5) pages of your manuscript, double-spaced, with each page numbered throughout. In the Header section of the page, insert your name, email address, and page numbers on each page in the Header section of each page. Also include the title of the work in the center of each page.

 

Karen Sargent  - If your query letter is in crisis, Query 911! will come to the rescue. Karen will provide a written critique for your struggling, polished, or first-attempt queries. Submit your one-page query letter by July 31 in order to receive your critique the day of the conference.

 

Guidelines for Query Letter Critique: Submit your one-page query letter, (single-spaced), which should be formatted as if sending to a literary agent. Include your name and email address at the bottom of your query letter.

 

Marcia Upchurch will provide a one-page, written critique in any genre of fiction. Please also include a 1-3 sentence log line of the manuscript.

Fill out and submit the following form as an attachment to purchase a critique.

 

In the Subject line of the email, put the following: Fiction Manuscript Critique OR Query Letter Critique according to what you purchase. Also, include your fiction critique or query letter critique as an attachment. Save your query letter or five pages as follows:

Last Name, Query Letter (or Fiction Critique)

 

PLEASE NOTE: Email this submission form, along with your manuscript and/or query letter to:  allwritenowconferencemo@gmail.com

 

You must also pay the $30 fee when you submit the following form. Submission for Fiction Critiques and payment must be completed before July 21 in order to receive your critique the day of the conference. Any critique submissions sent after that date will still receive a critique,but they may not be available until after the conference.

 

Query letter critiques can be submitted until July 31; however, payment for critiques must be paid for by July 30. Any payment not made by July 21, however, will not receive a written critique in time for the critique to be provided on the day of the conference.
